Borrowing Books From The LEMS Media Center

Thu, 09/24/2020 - 3:18pm

The Lake Elkhorn Middle School media center is happy to bring you contactless book pick-up! Students can simply request a book (or ask for a recommendation) using the LEMS Media Book Request form and wait for us to email you when it's ready. Pick-up will be on Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., right next to the Lake Elkhorn entrance at the front of the building.  There will be no building access during book pick-up or drop-off, and all CDC guidelines must be followed at all times.

How can I browse the books?

Use the Lake Elkhorn Public Access Catalog to search for books or to virtually browse the shelf.

What if I don't know what book I want?

Ask us to give you a recommendation! Tell us the name of another book or author you liked, or ask us for a book about a specific topic.

How can I reserve a book?

When you know the name of the book(s) you want, fill out this form: LEMS Media Book Request.

How will I know when my book is ready?

We will email you with the preferred email you entered in the book request form.

When can I pick up my book?

Pickup times will be Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

What if I can't get to the school during this time?

We are looking into additional pickup times. You may also give a friend permission to pick up your book, as long as you let us know.

Where will I pick-up my book?

Outside, at the front of the school, next to the Lake Elkhorn entrance. Entering school is not permitted. If you need assistance, email Mr. Howse or Mrs. Williams at Daniel_Howse@hcpss.org or Charlene_Williams@hcpss.org. All CDC guidelines must be followed when picking up (or returning) books, including wearing a mask and social distancing.

How will I find my book?

There will be a book return cart/bin in the same area as the book pick-up

Can I come inside Lake Elkhorn to browse books, ask a question, or for any other reason?
