Message from our Principal 3/17

Mon, 03/20/2017 - 2:57pm

Greetings, Lake Elkhorn families:

This Sunday, our Symphonic Orchestra students will be performing at the Columbia Mall as part of the 50th Anniversary of Columbia celebration. The performance is scheduled from 1:30-2:00 pm outside of Books-a-Million, near the Macy's, Nordstrom and Panera. They would love to see some familiar faces! We also wish the best to our Debate, Actor’s Guild and MESA (Math, Engineering, Science Achievement) teams, who are participating in countywide events soon.

We have only three weeks remaining until the end of the third marking period, which coincides with the beginning of spring break. This also means there are only fifteen days left to solidify a spot on the honor roll and a chance to choose the color I will dye my hair, provided that more than forty percent of our students achieve honor roll status.

Finally, because of the March 14th snow day, we had to reschedule two events. Our PTSA meeting this month will be moved to Thursday, March 23rd, in the LEMS media center at 6:30 pm. The first ever Howard County MultiService Center information night will now be held on Tuesday, March 21st at 6:30 pm at Oakland Mills Middle School. The MultiService Center is comprised of 14 different human service agencies, providing easy access to a wide range of resources and support, such as counseling, legal and medical assistance, employment, and many other services. Those in need of services, in addition to anyone who wants to learn more about how to help those in need, are encouraged to attend.

With Eagle PRIDE,
